To any late-comers, please keep in mind that the link will expire one day from now. I'll be posting a transcript of the conversation here though, so if you're unable to make it or need to duck out early, you won't miss anything.
Hope to see you all there, and please let me know if the link is giving you problems!
Long story short, I kind of fell behind on a bunch of stuff because last weekend was Tekkoshocon, Pittsburgh's own anime convention! I had a ton of fun with everyone and was planning to give a very detailed account of what all happened. Given that I was hit with a few more things to address here though, I decided to make this post an update on things in general. So! *claps hands* What's going on!
( In Regards To My Current Sporkings... )
( Gabriel's Inferno Group Sporking Details )
( Highlights For Tekkoshocon! )
( Goodbye, Puppy Girl )
To make up for that mood whiplash, I'm going to conclude this post with a story from Tekkoshocon which I swear is 100% true and in no way embellished. Because my panel had run over its allotted time and hit the point where the convention center rooms were supposed to be locked up and I still had one last fanfiction to have read, I told everyone present that if they wanted to have an unofficial reading of the final scene, we could meet at the roof of the convention center at noon the next day (this would be Sunday, the last day of the convention). The reading was the sex scene written for Sword Art Online in its original light novel format (sporked by Raxis on the comm, for anyone interested) and the turn-out was respectable. We were all having a fine time, reading away and pausing for rants like "WHY WOULD A VIRTUAL VIDEO GAME PROGRAM FOR BODILY FLUIDS TO DISAPPEAR IN BEADS OF LIGHT?" We were about halfway through and things were really getting uh...steamy, so to speak, when something happened that could not have been more perfect if it was scripted.
Two cosplayers - a boy and a girl - stopped by on the roof.
They were dressed as Kirito and Asuna, the leads of Sword Art Online and the subjects of our reading.
They were far enough away that they couldn't hear us, but we could all see them and freaked. This was the most hilarious thing we could think of, and nobody could decide what to do. Call them over? Say something? Ignore them? Read louder?
As we were deciding, my boyfriend just decided to take matters into his own hands (he does this often) and walked across the roof to them. We could see him saying something to them, which none of us could actually hear. We could all probably guess though, because a split second later, Asuna whipped around to face us and shouted, "YOU'RE READING WHAT?!?"
She then came running over, Kirito in tow, and grabbed the chapter we were reading. I asked her if she wanted to read along with us. She gave it a shot, but only managed to get out one sentence. After that, she quickly left the roof, laughing hysterically and followed by Kirito.
The rest of the reading passed by relatively uneventful. We saw two other different Kirito cosplayers, but none of them ended up interacting with us like that. The whole thing was just brilliant.
I think I'll bring that particular chapter back to read at the panel proper, assuming I'm approved for Round Three next year.
So, that's about all the news from my end. If there are any thoughts, questions, concerns, or observations related to any of this or anything I should have addressed but didn't, please drop me a comment! This is my moment for catching up, so if there's a sporking you'd like to see taking higher priority or something you'd like me to deal with or take care of, now's an excellent time to say so. I promise, unless you're insulting me directly or whatever, I will not be angry. Hell, if you're creative enough with your insults, it's possible even then that I'd be impressed. I'd rather you didn't, but still.
So, yeah. Tell me what is on your mind, hope to pick things up soon! Have a wonderful Sunday evening!
I've mentioned before how I'm involved with the Ghost Trick Musical Project. Well, fellow LJ member
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
You're probably scratching your head, wondering why I'm bringing so much attention to this one cover in particular. Well... this one's kind of special to me. You see, after some time dithering around, I've finally had a chance to finish something I've really been wanting to do - put together an English translation of one of the many J-Rock songs I'm fond of.
That's right, folks. The English cover in that video? I did the lyrics! :D
For those who know the opening of the dub of Case Closed, I didn't use any of those lyrics. I looked at a literal translation and put it together in a way that I hope is pleasing and makes sense. I myself knew I'd be no good at singing it, but fortunately the awesome Helen was happy to give it a shot. And what a job she did on it!
So yeah, please take a listen! And if you like Helen's singing, please listen to her other covers (she's done a good many fandubs of songs from Studio Ghibli films - this was her first foray into rock!), give her feedback, spread word of her YouTube channel to other folks, and all that fun stuff. :)
Anywho, that's my announcement for today! Take a listen, tell us what you think, and stick around for some more music and sporkings. Hope you enjoy!
Announcements From The Realm: Happy 2015
Jan. 11th, 2015 07:46 pm( Y'know, for anyone interested... )
More accurately, certain auditions are open. You see, to ensure that things run smoothly, we're opening parts for auditions as the songs those parts sing in is finished. For example, if Character A sings in Songs 1, 2, and 3, then Character A won't open for auditions until those three songs are done. As a result, not all parts are available right now. We're currently looking for voice actors for all non-singing parts as well as our only finished singing role thus far.
( Audition Information )
And there we have it! Good luck to everyone who auditions! And to everyone else, look forward to more Hush, Hush soon! :)
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
- In hindsight, it occurred to me that my first sporking wasn't as complete as it could have been. And, after all, I'd hate to deny anyone the squicky wonder that is Hush, Hush.
- Ket, in a complete and utter rage over the amount of myth!fail, asked for a chance to join me in having at it.
So, where does this leave my Crescendo sporking? Unfortunately, that one's going to be shelved for the time being. To everyone waiting for that to update, I'm really, really sorry. I was trying to muscle through it, and it's gotten to the point where it's so damned dull that I was worried I was missing too much and not being sufficiently snarky. Fear not though, dear Viewers! When Ket and I finish with Hush, Hush, we'll move on to the rest of the series. So worry not, Crescendo and the sequels will be sporked. It'll just be a bit, so please hang tight.
Hopefully the wait won't be too bad though, because you'll have the shiny new Hush, Hush sporking to follow along with! Besides new insight provided by the ever-reliable Ket, there will be new counts, new rages, and new points to bring up. So even if you read the previous sporking, there's going to be plenty of new stuff to keep you entertained!
Finally, I realize that I have been focusing mostly on updating my sporkings at

![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
On one final note, I mentioned this at the comm, but I'll be gone for pretty much the entirety of next week (June 22 - 28th) for a vacation. I'll have my laptop, but I'm not sure what sort of internet service I'll have access to. So if anyone needs to get in touch with me, I'm likely not going to be able to respond until next weekend. Terribly sorry if something incredibly urgent has come up, but that's how it is. ^^;
Anywho, let me know if there are any questions about this all, and hope you enjoy the upcoming events!
Right! Simple enough! We'll just move on then to a few rules...
1.) You have to read the entire story, or at the very least know what happens in the book
I know, I know, the book sucks and it's hardly fair for the person who got, say, chapter twenty to have to have read all the way up there. Still, even if you don't actually read the whole thing, you have to have some knowledge of what happened thus far. We don't want issues of a sporking being filled with questions like, "Who's that?" or "What's that even mean?" or "What are they talking about?" when those things have already been answered. At the very least, if you absolutely can't get through, PM me or whatever and ask for the highlights of whatever sections you can't make it through. Or ask a friend who read the book. Or what have you, I don't know. The upshot is, at least have some passing understanding of the events that lead up to your chapter.
Edit: The story can be read online here, for those who can't find copies of their own.
2.) There is no word or length limit to the sporkings
Self-explanatory. I know folks worry about being too wordy or long-winded, but don't. Don't worry about the Livejournal word count limit. Don't worry that your sporking is too long. Don't worry if it has to be split up into multiple parts. Trust me when I say that everyone would rather an in-depth sporking than one that glosses over everything. If anything, remember how few in-depth sporkings there are of this book, and consider how we're pioneering through relatively uncharted waters. This is your chance to dig deep and discuss nuggets of horrible that were probably missed before now. Seize the opportunity, folks!
If you know your sporking will need to be broken up, incidentally, feel free to mark in the sporking where you'd like the breaks to be. If you don't, or if you didn't know it would be multiple parts, I'll choose a natural breaking point myself, so it's no issue. If there's a preference though, just be sure to let me know.
3.) New sporkers, lurkers, and anonymous folks are all welcome to sign up
This is a group project, and everyone is welcome! Don't worry if this is your first sporking or if you don't have an account. If you want to take a chapter, have at it!
If this is your first time sporking and you are nervous or concerned about making some sort of faux pas, feel free to ask about anything. This is all for fun, and no one should take this on while worried that they'll screw up and be shot for it or something.
For any anonymous people who want to take a chapter, I will need (A) a name of some sort to credit your sporking to and (B) some means of contacting you. The name certainly does not have to be your real life name. You can give me any name you like (any appropriate name, obviously). The means of contacting you can be whatever is most convenient. It just has to be something that I can actually reach you at. Don't give me the ten-year-old e-mail address that you never check for mail anymore, because chances are I will need to get in touch with you for some reason or another, and if I can't get in touch with you and you don't get in touch with me, I might incorrectly assume you've dropped the sporking.
4.) Do not spork the chapter word for word
This is a published work. Sporking the entire thing line by line is a no-no. You are more than welcome to quote, but the bulk of the sporking ought to be in a recap-style, similar to what I do for my book sporkings, or what Mervin is doing for her Twilight porkings.
Other than that though? The sporking style is up to you. If you want to bring in your favorite fictional character to spork with you, if you want to do some of it in script-style, if you want to use GIFs, go for it! (Though in the last event, you may need to e-mail me the GIF or picture files as attachments, along with the sporking itself. I had a few issues with pictures in the past, and don't want to have to snip anything for someone's work just because I can't pull it up ^^; )
5.) First come, first serve
This is not a continuation of the Mortal Instruments sporking, therefore even the previous rule about newcomers getting first pick is wiped clean. Everyone, as far as I'm concerned, is a newcomer for this. It's all good.
What that means, though, is that anyone who requests something available gets it. First come, first serve, etc. We'll get into multiple requests in a minute, but if two folks ask for Chapter 12, the first person's getting it.
HOWEVER, if there is a chapter that you REALLY want and has already been claimed, you can add in your comment if you'd like to be an understudy sporker for it, of sorts. Real life butts in, folks find themselves unable to finish their chapter, it's fine, life goes on. If we know that you really wanted that one chapter but were beaten to the punch, we'll know to ask you to take it up if it is made available again.
6.) This sporking will be posted when...
Like with the Mortal Instruments sporkings, this one will be hosted at the community
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
(For those who are curious, in the event that this sporking has a good turnout and reception, we'll see about sporking its sequels - and yes, it's a trilogy - between other of Clare's books)
Now, since there are still some chapters remaining for City of Ashes, there are at least a few weeks remaining for that. We don't need to kick this off immediately after it ends though, so there's still some leeway. To try to have some idea of the timelines folks are working on, this group sporking, I would appreciate it if folks could include a general estimate on how long they expect it to take for the sporkings to get to me. It doesn't have to be a perfect figure and it's perfectly fine if you end up needing a bit more time, but I would like to have some idea of how long I'm waiting for. Meanwhile...
7.) If something comes up, please inform me of it
It's fine if you want to trade chapters with someone. It's fine if real life is kicking your butt and you need to bow out of the sporking. It's fine if things are just taking a little longer than expected. All I ask is that you tell me of these things. If you swap chapters or have to give up the sporking or told me a deadline that it turns out is too soon for you, tell me so that I know what's going on. In spite of what you may think of me, I don't like pestering any of you and I don't want to needlessly poke someone about a sporking that is no longer their responsibility or something. Much obliged!
8.) We'll start with two recaps per person
While there was interest in this project, I'm not sure how many folks will be turning out. So, when you comment and list the chapters you'd like, I will sign you up for the first two you name.
THAT BEING SAID, there's the good chance that there will be chapters left unclaimed, in which case a person would certainly be allowed to take on more than two if they'd like. So if there are a few more chapters you're potentially interested in sporking, list them as well and I'll keep that in mind. On MAY 24TH, if there are still unclaimed chapters, I will start signing folks up for more than two if they'd like. So after that date, if you're interested in that sort of thing, please check back and let me know!
9.) Is the author a man or a woman?
I don't know, and so far as I know, neither does anyone else. I've seen Sylvian Reynard referred to with feminine and masculine pronouns by various people, so I honestly don't know. If you're confused as to which to go with, I'd suggest just picking "he" or "she" and running with it. For whatever it's worth, their username when the work was still fanfiction was "Sebastien Robichaud".
10.) Is this actual fanfiction? In which case, can this been found online?
Much like Fifty Shades of Grey, this book originated from a Twilight fanfiction, this one a Human!AU by the title of "The University of Edward Masen". The fanfiction has been removed from the internet, though there are fansites and blogs and such that host it for download (or, if you're interested in comparision, ask me). Since Reynard actually did do a bit more editing than changing the names though, we're going off of the official published version. If you're unable to locate a copy in your library or such, please PM me and we'll come to some sort of arrangement.
11.) To contact me:
My e-mail address is zeldaqueen64@gmail.com. To send me your sporking, or if you have any questions, you can reach me that way.
Other than that, I read all comments and PMs, so you can contact me that way if you have any questions.
(On the subject of sending me the sporkings, if you send them in attached documents, .doc ones are best, if at all possible. If you send documents in a form that requires a specific program to access it, please let me know. Documents sent in HTML are most convenient, however if you don't or can't type in that, regular text is fine!)
12.) Have fun
'Nuff said!

ON ONE FINAL NOTE! Since this is a little different from the Mortal Instruments series, with this group sporking, I do reserve the right to make notes in the sporkings sent in. Just little things, like noting which characters were originally which ones from Twilight and so forth! I will be sure to inform all sporkers of any notes made, so yeah.
That should be about everything, so peace!
For those of you unfamiliar with it, the book began as a Twilight Human!AU fanfiction by the title of "The University of Edward Masen", in which Edward is a brooding college professor and Bella is a sweet student with a history of neglect and emotional abuse, and they met once in the past and loved each other ever since, a la Dante and Beatrice.
Yeah, going off of that, the Suethor shoves a lot of references to the Divine Comedy in there, especially the relationship between Dante and Beatrice. So for those of you fond of the classics? This is something you'll want to get in on.
Besides that, it shares many of the bad qualities of other fanfiction knock-offs. The characters keep their canon loathesome traits, and in some cases they even get amplified. Julia (Not!Bella) shows brief flickers of sense, which are hampered by her refusal to give up on Gabriel (Not!Edward), no matter how much of a douchebag he is to her. Meanwhile, neither of them seem to consider the implications of a professor dating his student. The story is pretentious as all fuck, Not!Jacob is HORRIBLE (granted we're not supposed to consider him a love interest, but like many Suethors, Reynard seemed to think that making him as overblown as possible was the only way to have him be credible as a villain), and Leah is turned into his partner-in-crime who does anal sex with him and is prominently bisexual and...yeah, sexuality is a whole 'nother can of worms here. There's the stupid religious references, the way Julia's treated like a child and a scared bunny rabbit (her romantic false lead even gives her the nickname of "Rabbit", even though she has no clue why), the obvious Twilight elements, and Gabriel's foot fetish. Which we hear about far more than is necessary.
So yeah, is anyone interested in participating in a group sporking of this and it's sequels? If so, sound off and I'll get a sign-up sheet started. Ideally, we'll try to get things started quickly, and hopefully start posting this group sporking after City of Ashes is done. So let me know, and I'll get the ball rolling!
As you may have noticed, I've got the Crescendo sporking up and running again! I'm afraid I've been neglecting it between my other sporkings and the holiday rush at work, however it's still ongoing. I've got a few more chapters in the works, so it should chug along nicely now.
As a head's up for folks, the next few chapters of my various sporkings may be a little different in terms of font and such. The reason for that is because I'll be doing most of them in a Word document on my netbook, since it's easiest for me to get stuff done during the commute to and from work. Somehow, when I get home, I'm too exhausted to focus and get anything sporked. So I plan to seize the free time I have while out during the day and get that done. Hopefully a slight change in font isn't a bad trade-off for sporkings being a bit more regular, but if it ever gets too difficult to read or if the spacing is wonky, please let me know! I'll do what I can to adjust it.
I've been falling a bit behind on answering things and getting stuff done in general, I'm afraid. There is a pretty exciting reason, though - my city's con is going to be in a week or so, and I'll be running my first panel! And it's a topic that sporking has well-prepared me for - terrible fanfiction sex scenes! *cheers* I have chosen a number of scenes that I think are suitably shocking, while not so terrible that they'd send the readers running for the hills. Should be fun.
For those of you following along with the Ghost Trick Musical Project, we're about caught up with the beta recordings. We still need someone to sing for Dandy though, if there are any tenors interested in doing so for fun. We are in need of more composers interested in helping us get more of the songs finished, though, so if there are any music-makers in our midst, feel free to help out! After the con is over, I'm also going to get things moving for the auditions of non-singing parts and singing parts that are ready to go, so keep your eyes open on the site if you're interested in that!
Finally, I'm not sure how many folks here are also on
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
Everyone, thank you so much for your patience! Over here it's still full steam ahead with Crescendo, hopefully followed by Chosen (and boy howdy, does that need a sporking!) so hope you all hang around and have fun!
~ ZeldaQueen
Wait, come back here!
In all seriousness, you may recall how, awhile back, I mentioned a musical adaptation being made of the game Ghost Trick. For anyone interested in said project, you'll be pleased to hear that we're still making great progress! A lot of music for the songs has been completed, and auditions for some parts should be open soon.
What we could use help with now though, are these things known as Beta Recordings. Basically, to help out with auditions and song recordings, we would like some people to sing the parts of certain characters, for various songs. You wouldn't have to sweat about talent or getting it perfect. It's all supposed to be rough recordings. Even if you just like singing for fun, we heartily encourage you to stop over and join in! The music can be downloaded in the various threads (if you have trouble finding it, folks there can direct you), and the lyrics are all in the forums. We are especially short on male singers at this point, so any of you fine gents who'd like to help out would be most welcome. :D
(Incidentally, folks, just a reminder - This all is NOT auditions for realz. You certainly are welcome to audition for real after doing a beta recording, but singing for the beta recordings does not mean you'll get the part in the actual musical. This is just as a guideline, and for funsies! ^^)
Questions? Comments? Thoughts? :) Just let me know! Otherwise, head on over and make some music!
So, here's the scoop on what's going on:
- I'm still awaiting the last few sporkings for City of Ashes. As always, the list of who's sporking what, along with who's turned in what, is here. Since there have been a number of folks who haven't been checking back in when I've poked them before, it's time for The Deadline. Basically, I'm going to poke everyone who still has to turn stuff in. If you don't have it done this instant, that's fine. However, I AM STILL GOING TO NEED SOME DETAILS AS TO WHEN TO EXPECT IT BY. Next week, tomorrow, the end of the month, just give me something to go off of. Of course, if it's done, fantastic! Just send it over to me, and it's all good. But the important thing is to, in some way, touch base with me in regards to the group sporking. IF YOU DO NOT CONTACT ME IN SOME WAY AND INDICATE WHEN YOU THINK THE SPORKING WILL BE DONE (OR FAIL TO CONTACT ME AT ALL) BY JULY THE 27TH, I WILL ASSUME YOU'VE DROPPED OUT AND GIVE YOUR CHAPTER TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!
- Reminders also that like with City of Bones, every group sporker has the option to submit a mini-Final Assessment along with their sporking. If you already turned in your sporking but didn't turn one of these in, you can still do so. PM me it, e-mail it, even post it in the comments here, I don't care. For more information on the basic guidelines of the mini-Final Assessments, there's a reminder here.
- There are still chapters in need of replacement sporkings, for City of Bones. More information on those chapters can be found here.
The first is that at the requests of the respective sporkers, several of the City of Bones chapters are available for re-sporking. The chapters are:
- Pandemonium
- The Circle and the Brotherhood
- High and Dry
If you're interested in sporking any, just let me know. The rules for sporking are the same as any of the group sporkings. Know the source material, give some detail, pay attention to spelling and grammer, etc and so on. Send it my way when it's done, I'll give it a lookover, and then I'll post it if it's good.
The second is in regards to several spitefic I did, and an idea I had. Some of you may recall that in response to some Disney Suefic, I did some fics centered around the Disney Princess Support Network. In a nutshell, for those of you who didn't read them, the fics used the idea that the Disney Princesses and Princes would go into their various canons, capture the Sues invading, and restore the general order of things. It was a fun way to vent frustration and show the strengths of the various princesses.
Since a lot of folks were into the concept, I have a proposal - I could go about starting a livejournal group to host Disney Princess Support Network fics. Anyone who wanted to write for it could, and it needn't be limited to bad Sue fics. Any epic missions for the team could be done. I'm willing to start that, if there's enough interest. So folks, just drop your votes for Yay or Nay in the comments below!
The final issue is a bit more personal, but the ultimate goal will end up here, so here I go. Some of you may recall me mentioning a couple of times in the past about a computer game I was searching for. Said game was called Legends & Myths, and had all but vanished off of the face of the Earth.
I finally scored a copy several months back (hooray for ebay!), which is the good news. The bad news is that I've been trying to record myself playing it, so that I can show folks that this game is real, and why I'd been looking for it for seventeen years or so. All attempts have ended in failure. I really, really want to see this through to the end though, if I can, so I'm here to humbly ask if any folks have thoughts or suggestions on how to fix the issue. The info I have, thus far:
I have tried a variety of screen-recording software, including Hypercam and Camstudio. I also tried simply screencapturing. Everything has resulted in the same issue - the colors come out in some bizarre palette inversion. Here it is...

So yeah. The sound generally works fine, but it's nearly impossible to see what's actually going on. I have no idea what to do to keep the screen from looking like that. The game runs in a 256 color palette, but several of the screen recording programs used claim to be able to handle that, and still don't work. I can run the game on a Windows XP and a Dell Precision just fine, and both computers have the same color issue. I can provide more info, if it's needed for suggestions. Being rather non-computer savvy, I'm a bit lost.
Other than that, hope everyone's evening's going well!
First of all, there are a couple of people who still need to turn in the sporkings. If those folks could let me know how things are going, I'd much appreciate it. And, as always, be sure to check the list of sporkers to see if I've got your status right. If you sent me your sporking and I didn't put you down for it, let me know.
This leads us to our second order of business - final thoughts! Just like with City of Bones, all guest sporkers have the option of turning in a brief summing up of their final thoughts of the story. I shall re-post the rules, as stated last time:
As you guys know, I always put a final assessment at the end of every recap for published works. I had similar plans for City of Bones, but I was wondering if you guys had things of your own that you'd like to add in. It doesn't have to be a huge thing, but if you had a few thoughts on the writing or the characters or the plot or anything like that overall, just put down a few words on whatever it is. If you don't feel there's anything you want to add that's fine. This is just if any of you have something left that you want to say, or want to tie up your thoughts or opinions.
All I ask is for two things to be taken into consideration. The first is that you try to be concise and to the point. Yes, I realize that I'm one to talk, but this is meant to tie together everyone's final thoughts and be easy for people to get what's being said.
The second thing, which I really insist on, is that you be professional and constructive in your criticism. Again, this is the part where we set down our thoughts, snarkiness aside. It's the "But seriously" tagline to our Bum Review, if you will.
An example of what we DO NOT want: "OMG this book SUCKED! Clare is a hack who published fanfiction! I wanted to kill Jack with a piano! There was more bullshit in here than in the Agean stables! What the flip?"
An example of what we DO want: "While Clare did attempt to go for the Byronic hero arc type with Jace, she went too far and made him impossible to relate to. Furthermore, while her use of prose was descriptive, her analogies were rather far-reaching".
In addition,

In other news!
I ranted last time about Gabriel's Inferno, if you all recall. This time around, I acquired a copy of the newly-released Beautiful Bastard, which is yet another published fanfiction of Twilight (...really), from a fic known as The Office. I got as far as the second chapter, where Not!Edward rationalizes jumping Not!Bella's bones because she's so hot and tempting and just looks so great in the sexy secretary skirt Alice got for her that he just couldn't help himself, before I decided to leave it until I have more time. I fear my brain will melt, otherwise.
On a less infuriating note, updates for anyone who was interested in the Ghost Trick musical project I mentioned before! We now have our own forum, where we're working on the script and music! If any of you fine folks are interested in helping out and are musically inclined (I know you're out there! Don't be so modest!), by all means, drop on by!
(For any of you interested in helping out in the voice acting department, we're going to be holding auditions for that at some point after more of the script and music have been completed!)
If you have not, I highly recommend checking up on the sporking list status and making sure the info for your chapters is up-to-date. If I have down, say, that your sporking hasn't been received and you sent it to me months ago, please let me know.
Sadly, I have also re-opened several chapters due to the sporkers vanishing. The now-available chapters are:
- Chapter 15: The Serpent's Tooth
- Chapter 17: East of Eden
On an unrelated sporking note, someone in the comments section for the Fifty Shades of Grey sporkings mentioned a book by the title of Gabriel's Inferno. It was another Twilight fanfiction that became published, this one
MOTHER. OF. GOD.
You know, it's probably not the most pretentious pile of hamfisted, overly-symbolic dog crap I've ever read, BUT BY GOD IT'S TRYING FOR THAT POSITION! Dear God! Bad enough the Suethor apparently doesn't get anything out of The Divine Comedy except for "Beatrice/Dante = OTP!!!" Bad enough we're supposed to buy
So yes. This thing is going down. I don't know when, but IT WILL BE SHOVED UNDER THE FROZEN LAKE WITH SATAN. Which is a more sound Inferno allusion than most of what goes on in that book!
On one final, non-ranty and non-sporking note, I've gotten involved with an online project known unofficially as the Ghost Tricks Musical. For those of you who have heard of the Turnabout Musical project, yeah it's an unofficial offshoot of that. It's a different crew, but our goal is the same - to make an online radio drama/musical of the game Ghost Trick. I'm not sure how many folks here are fans of that game (though I highly recommend it - ton of fun, and by the same folks who did the Ace Attorney series), but if anyone is interested in joining in or following along, please feel free! Our headquarters (so to speak) are at this thread here, so welcome!
And that should be all for now. Good luck to everyone on their recaps, hope life is going well, and enjoy February!
Updates From The Realm: Several Things
Dec. 8th, 2012 11:59 pmFirst of all, I apologize for having been MIA for so long. Again. I do have an excuse, though. Finals were rolling by, and they're my last ones ever. Yep! By the time next week is out, I'm finally graduating from college! I'll be running the Realm with a Bachlor of Arts, a-yep!
*ahem* Sorry. On to the interesting stuff!
A whole bunch of you turned in your sporkings for the City of Ashes chapters. That's fantastic! That being said, it's time for Round Two of the sporking turn-ins. The next deadline to check in will be December 20th. Again, it's fine if your sporking isn't totally finished. It's the holiday season, I know everyone's busy. If you're done, send it to me. If you're not, just check in with me and give a quick status update. If you do not check in, I might think you dropped out and reassign your chapter and all sorts of avoidable stickiness will be had. So let's not.
Please note that if you have changed your mind and want to drop out of the group sporking, it's totally alright. Just please let me know, so I'll know to reassign your chapter.
Other orders of business on the group sporking! First up, several chapters have opened up and need sporkers. If you are interested in checking out what's now available, feel free to look at the sign-up list. I also highly encourage sporkers with their own chapters to take a quick look at the list, especially any who have sent me their sporkings. should have updated the list to say whose sporkings I have received, but please have a look. If you have sent me your sporking and the list doesn't say you did, let me know. Odds are I got it and just forgot to mark off the list, but best to make sure everything got through.
Finally, some of you might recall how I once upon a time had plans to spork Chick Tracts. For many different reasons, I have given up on that. To put the Chick Tract table of contents I created to good use, I will be linking to all of
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
And, I think that should be everything. Good luck to anyone in their finals weeks, and hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!
For everyone signed up for the group sporking, I am setting September 15 as the deadline for our first round of check-ins. Basically, if you have finished your sporking by then, turn it in. If you haven't finished but are still going through with it, give me a message and let me know by then. If something has come up or you decided you don't want to do the sporking anymore, that's when to let me know, so I can give the chapter to another person.
We are NOT starting the sporking then, so if that's too soon for some people to be done, please don't panic and think we're leaving without you. I just want to keep this on track, that's all.
That being said, I would like to see if the group sporking can begin not long after that date. Exactly when will depend on how many recaps I get in on the 15th, and where we all are generally standing. Like I said, just let me know about anything going on. I'm pretty flexible, and I promise I don't bite. Similarly, if you have any questions at all, please ask!
Other than that, have fun and enjoy your sporking!
Update From The Realm: Several Things
Apr. 11th, 2012 08:33 pmFirst of all, I greatly apologize for how slow things have been. The reason for the halt in sporkings is because I'm coming up to the end of another semester, which means that there are a lot of papers and things to get ready. Add in the fact that some smartass(es?) decided that it would be a great idea to call twenty-some odd bomb threats over the past few weeks and that my campus is now crawling with security, and things have been rather tense. So again, very sorry. Things should pick up once some of this stuff has been taken care of.
Second of all, I would like to remind everyone that there are still a few open chapters for the group sporking of City of Ashes. By now, anyone who wants a chapter can get one, so mosey on over and have a peek if you're interested. Just make sure you read the rules and guidelines (in that same post) before you sign up. If you've already signed up for a chapter, please check the list as well. It's updated, so if anyone sees any incorrect information on it, please let me know and I'll sort it out.
If you're already signed up for a chapter, feel free to spork and send me your work any time you'd like. I'm not saying this to pressure anyone. Like I said before, we're not starting this until after Dark Side of the Moon is sporked. But if you do get it done, I'd be more than happy to take it.
Finally, I'd like to direct you all to the Sporking Chamber of

![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
Before we begin, I'm going to post a few rules here. You guys know the drill, be sure to read this all and follow the rules.
1.) You have to read the entire story, or at the very least know what happens in the book
Yes, I know this was not a requirement for the last sporking. This time though? You've got to do it. If you can't get through the entire story, read the summary on Wikipedia. Or ask someone who has read through it. Or find an online summary. Point is, know enough that you don't fill your sporkings with "I don't know what that is" or "Where did that come from?" when things have been explained or introduced already. (Saying you don't understand something because it genuinely is confusing is, of course, a different matter and is acceptable)
Also, if you are just going off of a summary, and you still find something in your chapter that confuses you, there is the very thorough Shadowhunter's Wiki. Or, if that still doesn't answer your questions, feel free to ask me or anyone else you know who has read the books.
Long story short? Know the plot.
2.) There is no word or length limit to the sporkings
This was something that caused a lot of confusion for the last sporking. Basically, it's what it says up there. Don't worry about the Livejournal word count limit. Don't worry that your sporking is too long. Don't worry if it has to be split up into multiple parts. Trust me when I say that everyone would rather an in-depth sporking than one that glosses over everything.
5.) New sporkers get first pick
Exactly what it says on the tin. So that everyone gets a chance at this, I'm designating specific sign-up times. It goes like this:
January 24th to February 7th - Only sporkers who have not participated at all in the last group sporking can sign up
February 8th - March 1st - Sporkers who only sporked one chapter in the last group sporking can sign up
March 2nd and onward - If any chapters are left unclaimed, any sporker is welcome to ask for them
Keep in mind that once the starting period applicable to you passes, you are still allowed to claim a sporking. For example, if it is February 10th and you are a first-time sporker who wants to claim a chapter, you're more than welcome to. Hopefully though, this will make it a little easier for everyone to get a piece of the action.
6.) This sporking will be posted when...
While there is not yet a set date for when this will get started, do not expect it to begin until the group sporking of Dark Side of the Moon is finished, or at least almost finished.
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
(And for first-time sporkers who might not know, yes this will be hosted over at
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
Everyone can take advantage of this to balance their lives and dealing with this incredibly boring book. Again, I do not have a specific deadline for when I'd like the sporkings sent in to me by, but I would very much appreciate them in a timely manner. This leads to the next rule...
8.) No more than two recaps per person
Simple enough. Enough people signed up for the last sporking that two chapters were generally the maximum. If there are any left over that no one will claim, then we'll see if anyone wants three. Until that comes up though, stick to two.
9.) To contact me:
My e-mail address is zeldaqueen64@gmail.com. To send me your sporking, or if you have any questions, you can reach me that way.
Other than that, I read all comments and PMs, so you can contact me that way if you have any questions.
(On the subject of sending me the sporkings, if you send them in attached documents, .wps and .doc ones are best, if at all possible. If you send documents in a form that requires a specific program to access it, please let me know)
10.) Have fun
'Nuff said!
*glances up* Wow, I really like my lists, don't I?
So! Let's get to the good stuff! Here are all of the chapters within City of Ashes:

Updates From The Realm: A Few Things
Dec. 16th, 2011 01:13 amFirst of all, I apologize for the stretch of time with no sporkings. I just had a fine time with our friend Mr. Finals Week, and only now am I free of his nefarious clutches.
Second of all, I'm pushing through to get Betrayed done as quickly as possible. For pacing reasons, I will not be moving on to Chosen immediately after. Instead, I will work on Crescendo first and then take on Chosen.
Third of all, as you guys might recall, The Lusty Wench and I finally got our first video review for Medieval-Pirate reviews up! Unfortunately, due to my lack of foresight, there was a problem with VEOH not wanting to show people more than a snippet of the review. I have switched to a different video host, which I hope will let everyone just watch the thing without having to jump through hoops. For those of you who want to check out the review under the new video host, or for anyone who just missed the review the first time around, you can watch it here.
Fourth, I have somehow found myself roped into the fandoms of both Avatar: The Last Airbender and Axis Powers Hetalia. This may or may not affect future choices for sporking material. (Oh God, the shipping...)
Finally, we are getting towards the end of the City of Bones group sporking, and a few people have wondered about whether or not the other books in the series will be getting the same treatment. The answer is yes, we will at least be going for a group sporking of City of Ashes. I will release more information about the arrangements for this when we get a bit closer to the end of the City of Bones sporking on
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
And...I do believe that's all for now. I hope the holiday season and life in general is going well for everyone. Peace!
