Hello everyone, hope you've had a great Easter and days following! All of today's updates shall be in regards to the group sporking of City of Ashes.
First of all, there are a couple of people who still need to turn in the sporkings. If those folks could let me know how things are going, I'd much appreciate it. And, as always, be sure to check the list of sporkers to see if I've got your status right. If you sent me your sporking and I didn't put you down for it, let me know.
This leads us to our second order of business - final thoughts! Just like with City of Bones, all guest sporkers have the option of turning in a brief summing up of their final thoughts of the story. I shall re-post the rules, as stated last time:
As you guys know, I always put a final assessment at the end of every recap for published works. I had similar plans for City of Bones, but I was wondering if you guys had things of your own that you'd like to add in. It doesn't have to be a huge thing, but if you had a few thoughts on the writing or the characters or the plot or anything like that overall, just put down a few words on whatever it is. If you don't feel there's anything you want to add that's fine. This is just if any of you have something left that you want to say, or want to tie up your thoughts or opinions.
All I ask is for two things to be taken into consideration. The first is that you try to be concise and to the point. Yes, I realize that I'm one to talk, but this is meant to tie together everyone's final thoughts and be easy for people to get what's being said.
The second thing, which I really insist on, is that you be professional and constructive in your criticism. Again, this is the part where we set down our thoughts, snarkiness aside. It's the "But seriously" tagline to our Bum Review, if you will.
An example of what we DO NOT want: "OMG this book SUCKED! Clare is a hack who published fanfiction! I wanted to kill Jack with a piano! There was more bullshit in here than in the Agean stables! What the flip?"
An example of what we DO want: "While Clare did attempt to go for the Byronic hero arc type with Jace, she went too far and made him impossible to relate to. Furthermore, while her use of prose was descriptive, her analogies were rather far-reaching".
In addition,
hoppytoad79 has brought up a very good idea for all who would like to participate. We've all pointed out how Jace (and most of the Shadowhunters, for that matter) are whiny, childish jerks, as opposed to the badasses that Clare intended for them to be. So this time, along with your final thoughts, bundle along someone who you think is a true badass! Just give a brief explanation as to who they are, and what they do that constitutes badassery, in your opinion!
In other news!
I ranted last time about Gabriel's Inferno, if you all recall. This time around, I acquired a copy of the newly-released Beautiful Bastard, which is yet another published fanfiction of Twilight (...really), from a fic known as The Office. I got as far as the second chapter, where Not!Edward rationalizes jumping Not!Bella's bones because she's so hot and tempting and just looks so great in the sexy secretary skirt Alice got for her that he just couldn't help himself, before I decided to leave it until I have more time. I fear my brain will melt, otherwise.
On a less infuriating note, updates for anyone who was interested in the Ghost Trick musical project I mentioned before! We now have our own forum, where we're working on the script and music! If any of you fine folks are interested in helping out and are musically inclined (I know you're out there! Don't be so modest!), by all means, drop on by!
(For any of you interested in helping out in the voice acting department, we're going to be holding auditions for that at some point after more of the script and music have been completed!)

Date: 2013-04-13 09:24 pm (UTC)Yep! Given how this series is such a zombie, we have quite a lot to spork before it's over! :D
"You sound very, very busy ^.^"
^^; Yeah, I think things should be sorted soon, though.

Date: 2013-05-05 09:00 pm (UTC)I updated the list and added your name. In regards to the image, that would depend. If the Goodreads reviewer made the image themselves, I'd credit them. If they just found it via a Google Search though, I don't think it's necessary. If you're not sure, you can ask the reviewer what they'd prefer.
