In Which I Do A Meme: Hypothetical AU

Snagged from
geministar01, to make up for the lack of updates.
Take any one of the fandoms or characters you know I write AND give me a type of AU (space opera AU, pirate AU, superhero AU, etc.). I will then explain what story from that fandom/character I would write for that AU.
To give you guys a little more choice (right now, I've only written fanfiction for Axis Powers Hetalia, The Legend of Zelda, and That Guy With the Glasses), I'll also give hypothetical AUs for fandoms you know I spork.

Date: 2012-11-25 12:33 am (UTC)In the city of Awesomeopolis, reviewers have gained superpowers and fight crime! Sadly, years on the job have worn them down, with most in retirement or out of contact.
All this changes when a strange substance begins to infect certain heroes. Those exposed to it begin to get taken over by evil alternate personalities. It's a race against the clock to contain the infected and find a means to cure them. All the while, there are questions. Where have reviewers like Amarzon disappeared to? Why has no one seen a certain Critic or Spoony One around? And how does this tie in with a rather sinister Guy and a giggling insane scientist?

Date: 2012-11-25 01:07 am (UTC)This actually all is based on an idea I had for a fic, which likely won't be written now unless I feel like ignoring current TGWTG canon.
In Castle Awesome, King Nostalgia Critic reigns over all. He is assisted by his royal adviser Phelous (who hates his guts), and manservant Film Brain (who is creepily attached to him). The various female reviewers from the site are ladies of the court (though they can take up arms to fight in the final battle) with Liz moonlighting as the Iron Knight. The Iron Knight is Linkara's loyal friend and trusted second i battle (he doesn't realize that the lady he's courting and the knight he fights alongside are the same person).
The primary villains are Ask That Guy (a hammy evil nobleman) and Dr. Insano (the hammy royal alchemist). Insano is none to fond of Sir Spoony, but is quite infatuated with the knight's beloved Lady Scarlett. Thus, he tries to kill two birds with one stone and kidnap the lady. This backfires spectacularly when said lady turns out to be a hot amazon who throws him down a hill for attacking her lord.
For the secondary characters, Chester A. Bum would have been included as the court fool (other court fools Lester and Spencer having been dispatched on a whim to the disgusting troll, Douchy, that lives under the drawbridge). Nella and Elise serve as Lady Nostalgia Chick's handmaidens, with her treating them both terribly.
After some twists and turns, everything would lead up to a great battle between the knights of Castle Awesome and the evil minions of Lord Ask That Guy. The battle would be won when the ladies of the court decide "fuck it" and join in the fight.
After winning, King Critic decides to reward the ladies by officially knighting them all (an idea which he didn't steal from Phelous, really). Liz is revealed to be the Iron Knight, and happiness is had by all. Except that it turns out that Elise was secretly the Lady of the Lake, who had been disguising herself as a lowly servant to see if the people of Castle Awesome were properly following the laws of chivalry. She is so disgusted by their behavior that she curses their descendants to have a shot at rebuilding their empire, only to have it forever lost because of their idiocy and selfishness. Thus, we got Kickassia. She also gives the Chick and Nella special curses, that she'd reappear to torment their descendants with makeovers (thus, the Makeover Fairy).

Date: 2012-11-30 06:56 pm (UTC)In the far future, in the galaxy of Hylia, planets and civilizations had been shaken by a decades-long war between the inhabitants of the Gerudo territories and the planet Hyrule. Coming to power in the midst of the conflict, Princess Zelda manages to end the war by ordering the drafting of an unprecedented number of young men and women. Though the costs were high, the surge of Hyrulian soldiers were able to bring the war to an end. The instigator of the war - Ganondorf - was captured, executed, and had his remains jettisoned into space. Almost all of the Gerudo territories were seized by the Hyrulian government and terraformed from deserts into more inhabitable lands. The territories became known as "New Hyrule".
One of the drafted soldiers was a young man by the name of Link. He fought well for his planet and managed to survive, but never fully recovered from the ordeal. Instead of returning to live with his grandmother and sister (who moved to New Hyrule), he chose to live in a small apartment in the capital city. By day, he worked as an assistant to a ship repair woman named Malon. By night, he would ride his motorcycle Epona and beat up thieves and muggers.
When bizarre monsters are found roaming the streets though, Link realizes that something bad is going down. Add in the kidnapping of his friend and neighbor, Nabooru, and it looks like he's being called to fight again.
Zelda, meanwhile, has found out something of her own. Something called "Koholint Satellite" is apparently orbiting Hyrule, but its exact purpose is unknown. Determined to uncover this mystery, and fearing that her advisers can not be trusted, she flees.
Inevitably, Link and Zelda meet and resolve to find out the mystery of the Koholint Satellite. With the help a former smuggler-turned-cowered named Linebeck, his firstmate and ex-girlfriend Jolene, artillery woman Joanne, a Gerudo rights extremist named Aveil, and a strange AI program known only as "Fi", they set out to solve the mystery of Koholint, the monsters, and the disappearance of Nabooru.

Date: 2012-12-17 06:27 am (UTC)It would center around an AU of To Boldly Flee. Paw never got the signal and the reviewers didn't find out about the plot hole until it's too late.
With SUCKA passed, Prick begins rounding up and jailing as many internet critics and online personalities as he can catch. The cast of Channel Awesome is forced to scatter, hoping that they can regroup and fight back when the dust settles.
Meanwhile, thanks to the plot hole, the various annoying and/or terrifying elements of things reviewed walk the earth. Zombie herds of Tommy Wisseaus attack innocents, while smirking dog-faced octopuses attack luxury cruisers. Rapping dogs and cats cause mayhem, as everyone buys everything with Bat Credit Cards.
It's up to the reviewers to find each other, combat these threats, and take down Prick and SUCKA.

Date: 2012-12-01 01:27 am (UTC)In a world were things are more literal, "dead" laws, bills, and the like have an unfortunate tendency to come back as zombies. Naturally, it falls upon the nations to deal with those things. Trouble is, if they get bitten, they get zombified. And all of their people get zombified. So, no room for screwing up.
World War II is still going on, meanwhile, and the Axis nations are still fighting. Germany has put his greatest scientists to work on Project Die Glock, a weapon powered by a rare, recently-discovered element. As there is little progress on this though, Germany's boss orders two new models of supersoldier to be created: the Nachtzehrer soldier and the Werwolf soldier.
The Nachtzehrer soldier concept was made for the purpose of infecting and enslaving the Allied nations and soldiers. When the serum used to spark the conversion was injected, the infected's body would slowly begin to change. Subtle changes would be made to make them feel compelled to obey Germany's boss. At the same time though, they would be capable of higher thought, thus avoiding the problem of them turning out like the zombies.
The Werwolf soldier concept, meanwhile, was intended to provide another line of defense for the Axis soldiers. Those who underwent the process would essentially be able to tap new amounts of strength, in the event of being captured or surrounded.
The Nachtzehrer soldier treatment was administered to France, who was a prisoner of the Nazis. Unfortunately, it did not work out according to plan. The treatment made France become powerful but hostile, with brief lucid periods. Attempts to control him were much less successful than they had hoped. The only thing that seemed to go right was that France was infectious. Anyone he bit changed accordingly. The project was proclaimed a failure and scrapped. Before France could be contained though, he escaped. No one knew where he went, or how many people he would bite before he was found.
The Werwolf soldier treatment was meant to be administered to Italy and Romano, in the hopes of giving them a means to fight back when they were captured. When he saw how badly the other project had gone, Germany refused to go ahead with the approved test subjects. For his insubordination, his boss ordered him to be used instead.
Upon having the treatment administered to him, Germany suffered shocking growth in his nails, teeth, and hair. He became extremely violent and his intelligence level diminished to very basic instincts. It turned out that these effects were not permanent though, and Germany could turn back with some effort. Fearing what would happen if their nation was killed or imprisoned, everyone involved with the testing downplayed the side effects and considered it a success. Pleased, Germany's boss ordered the treatment to be administered to a select group of soldiers.
Can the infected be cured? Will France be found and saved? Will everyone fall to the zombies? And what will happen when Project Die Glock is completed? Talk amongst yourselves. :P
