Yes, and there are an ungodly number of them. You would not believe how many fics there are with an adopted/previously unheard of Pevensie, a new kid who has been to Narnia before, or a family friend who goes along for the ride.
In fact, I'd wager that it's right up there with those Edmund/Peter incest fics. >_<
I unfortunatly know that there is a good deal of them, which is why I haven't looked through Narnia fanics in... oh, forever. Too much movie verse and not enough book verse and those who watch only the movies don't like being called for the fact that their fanfic is going to contradict later movie verse, 'cause they think the plot is being spoiled for them, to which people tell them flat out that they should be reading the books.
Because honestly, Chronicles of Narnia is so intertwined between each story, it isn't funny. More so then even Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Thus you end up with a whole lot more WTF momments.
Having parused the Chronicles of Nannia fandom, I think Suspian (Caspian/Susan... thanks to the second movie) and Peter/Susan is more up there. I find Suspian cute, though ludicris. As for the other one, for some reason I can't help but think ick on that one, simply because if you've read the books, you know their personalities clash big times. Edmund and Peter, not so much. Still... incest fics are icky.
I'm alright with Suspian, in the context the movies put it in. Susan and Caspian had a few sparks, they both thought the other was hot, they had a kiss, and that was it. It wasn't some sweeping, life-changing romance and in my opinion, that worked fine.
What annoys me is when people either have Susan remain in Narnia with Capian (because it misses the point that Aslan is the one who controls when and who goes to Narnia, and that they can only stay forever after they die) or that Susan's love for Caspian explains her rejection of Narnia (seeing as it didn't happen in the books, so it doesn'd water)
That is why I think the pairing is cute and I have seen a few fanfics detailing the fact that they can't be together and Caspian basically dealing with 'first crush' so to speak.
This Suethor actually has one of those too. Makes me wonder how many Caspian X/??? has been based on the fact the actor is hawt. Wonder how much they'll think that when Silver Chair comes along.
As for the last part, makes me wonder if those people have read the books or simply LOOKED up the timeline online. Because to be honest, she rejected Narnia because she was vain and selfcentered as she got older.
Now that I think of it, she can compare to Bella Swan as she got older, but she... unlike Bella got the side effects of her choices.
"Makes me wonder how many Caspian X/??? has been based on the fact the actor is hawt."
Considering that Prince Caspian was about ten or so in the book...yeah
"Wonder how much they'll think that when Silver Chair comes along."
Well, by then they'll have Prince Rilian to go after, with his hottness, woobie nature, and appeal to brainwashing, bondage, and submission fetishes.
I'd hate to compare Susan to Bella. Susan was distracted by frivolous things, but Lewis apparently did say she'd go to Narnia when she died. That, to me, says that she was still a good person at heart. Bella is just...there's no words for her.
Prince Rilian was actually cute in the original BBS version, I'll admit that. Thank goodness none of them have thought to go looking for that, or know about that.
True on the Susan thing. I think the comparision is more along the lines of, Lewis did the character type right, Meyer did it all wrong.
Yeah, I saw the actor for that. ^_^ I wonder who they'll have in the new version. I'm pretty sure they're going for it.
I actually heard a pretty interesting theory in regards to Susan - that Lewis wanted there to be seven "apostles" so to speak to greet the last king of Narnia, but there were eight children who'd gone at some point or another. Digory and Polly were there at the beginning, Peter was the High King and the ideal warrior type, Edmund was the traitor redeemed, Lucy was the favorite character (plus, with how often she'd met Aslan, it would be hard to sell her abandoning Narnia), and Eustace and Jill both were just in Narnia so it would be impossible to say either of them gave upon it. Susan was just sort of...there. So she was written out. I don't know how true it is, but it'd be interesting if it was.
Though, to be honest, the fic that bothered me even more than Peter/Susan, Peter/Edmund and Edmund/Lucy was a Peter/Aslan story.
(Aslan morphs into a man and they have sex. And this is part of Peter's post-Last Battle heaven, because he's never been able to love a human man since he loves and desires Aslan so much.
Nope. Human women don't figure into the equation at all. Peter gets to be lonely until he dies, at which point Lion Jesus turns into a man, takes Peter to bed and promises never to leave him.
