Oh god, I'm barely half way through chapter 14 and its SO BORING. I mean, its not suppose to be but its SO BORING. And I'm beyond confused. This chapter is retarded.

Not when everyone is an idiot. Clary (I will never get over that name. That has to be the most unoriginal name ever) really needs to think of a new career path, and like now. Being a hunter should not be on her list. I would a better hunter, and I am the most oblivious person ever and 'Where's Waldo' scares the crap out of me.

I second this so much! There's a dent in the wall next to my computer, because every time Clary couldn't figure something out - even though she heard someone tell her everything she needed to know - I had to get up and bash my head against something.

I mean, I'm all for her not understanding the world of the hunters since she didn't grow up in it, but when she misses even the most glaring thing and then acts as if it's some kind of huge revelation the moment she finally gets it... I just want to cry.

I think the worst part is that I've gotten all of this from...one and 3/4 chapters (chapter 13 and 14). I haven't even bothered reading from the beginning because there is nothing that captures my curiosity...at chapter 14. I heard my chapters are suppose to be suspenseful and all the jazz and I'm just laughing at the thought...because they aren't.

I think Clary suffers from the 'Too stupid to live' trope. I have made so many revelations long before she did I deserve a cake (and to be inducted into the Shadowhunters, even though I'm a 'mundane'. Anyone else hate that word?)

Mundane is a word I despise from this lump of text. And it's not just Clary who falls under 'Too stupid to live'; there's and absolute gem at the beginning of chapter 19 where all of them fall under this category.

I was stupid enough to read through it from the start. I stopped reading after chapter 17, because I just couldn't take it anymore. My chapter was just "romance mush" and nothing that really moves the plot forward.

Yes, I hate 'mundane' the way it's used in this story with a passion now.

I agree that Clary is a stupid and unoriginal name, but I would argue that Jace is stupider. It's so stupid that when it's combined with the surname Wayland (which is not a bad-sounding surname by itself, by the way), it just makes the whole name sound nasal and whiny.

I've written my recap of chapter 17, but I still need to edit it in some attempt of making it more interesting and not just droning on like I tend to do. Sadly, my chapter was mostly just full of mush, so there wasn't much to work from. XD;

I agree with carakasla. Chapter fourteen was supposed to be suspenseful, but even the action-bits of that and chapter fifteen had me yawning and made me get up and wander off to do other things like cleaning my apartment and doing the dishes to take a break from reading the book.

Can I just say that I want to punch Jace I really like Simon this far in the story?

That's what I thought. I rage every single time she has to go on about how gorgeous he is, and how his arms are so lean and muscular and omg, he's got a tragick past!!1 I don't like Clary either. XD;

I love Simon too. He's the only one with any sense of humor in this damned story and Clary just treats him like mud. He and Ron need to team up or something.

The difference between how Clary treats Simon and Jace is almost exactly like the way Bella treats Jacob compared to how she treats Edward.

Simon is the voice of reason in this story. It's just too bad that since Clary found out that she's Special, he's suddenly not good enough for her to hang around anymore. She forgets about him for days at a time, and I rejoice every time he points out how incredibly horrible her behavior is.
Yeah, Ron and Simon would make an awesome team.
