Ron/Hermione

I. Fandom and meta:

1) I wish Rowling didn't have them so at each other's throats in HBP, but it still is a good example of a ship developed over a period of time
2) The end of HBP, when we're told that Ron is brushing the tears from Hermione's face at Dumbledore's funeral.
3) I really don't have one. (Sadly it's been too long since I've read good HP fanfiction ^^; )
4) When Ron is an evil wifebeater and Hermione is all chickified and needs Harry to save poor her >(
5) Ron is not a brainless slob and Hermione is not a saint, dammit!
6) As much as Harmonians have made me bristle at Harry/Hermione, I'm not against it if it's done well. As for Ron...I can't think of any character specifically. ^^; I might say Luna, but that would be more of a platonic pairing
7) During the books, both are devoted to helping Harry fight Voldemort, putting their lives and their families at risk. After the books, they'd have to get their lives between their careers and families sorted (both have very important and no doubt time-consuming jobs, after all)
8) Kids, of course!
9) Hermione is dominant XD

II. Little details:

1) Hermione is the big spoon, Ron is the little spoon
2) During the books, visiting Hogsmeade. After the books, I'd say getting together with their school friends
3) Ron
4) Hermione would get something like a bagel with cream cheese. Ron would get something filling, like a calzone
5) During the books, Ron wanting Hermione's help with homework so often. After the books, something like who fixes dinner that evening

Zuko/Mai

I. Fandom and meta:

1) I love that they're both emo teens who are able to support and express their love to each other, in spite of the stuff they've gone through. I also like that we see how they have to work through some serious issues to keep their relationship going, but that they pull through in the end.
2) Two separate instances. The first is the adorkable look Zuko gets when he tells the Gaang about Mai ("That gloomy girl who sighs a lot?"). The second is when Mai defies Azula (Miss Eviler-Than-The-Genocidal-Firelord) and tells her that she loves Zuko more than she fears Azula

4) Mai being turned evil and Zuko conveniently becoming a casanova obsessed with Katara (Yes, I'm looking at you, How I Became Yours! >( )
5) I do not think that Mai is an underdeveloped character, nor do I find her annoying. In fact, I think she's very badass
6) Um, I really don't have one for Mai. For Zuko, I will go with Zuko/Katara, but like with Harry/Hermione, I do like it well-written. ^^;
7) Both are high up on the political ladders, meaning that they have to deal with public images, opponents, assassination plots, etc, not to mention Zuko rebuilding the Fire Nation. There's also the fact that they were on opposite sides during most of the show.
8) Kids, definitely
9) Mai’s better at being romantic than Zuko, so she picks up the slack XD

Harry/Ginny

I. Fandom and meta:

1) Harry's realization that he loved Ginny was rather sudden, but I love them actually together, as a couple
2) On reflection, I think it was actually the break-up scene in HBP. The way they handle it, it just shows how they understand and care for each other, and how they're willing to discuss their problems
3) I haven’t read much good Harry/Ginny fan fiction. I’m sorry! ^^;
4) Turning Ginny into a gold-digging slut. Really, people. -_-
5) Harry and Ginny did have a basis for their relationship. Don’t five summers, six school years, and a lot of bonding over Quidditch and the like count?
6) Hm… I guess for Harry it would be with Hermione (no bashing or Sue-ifying, of course) and for Ginny…I could see she and Dean patching things up, maybe.
7) Before the series end, Harry basically has a big target symbol on him, and he and Ginny need to balance a relationship and each other’s safety. After the end of the series, they both have careers and have a pretty big family, so they have to balance that

9) Ginny is the one who knows all the good stuff, so she teaches it to Harry. XD

Mal/Inara

I. Fandom and meta:

1) It was cut off before I could REALLY get into it, unfortunately, but I did like the set-up of the rebel captain and the classy businesswoman falling for each other
2) The scene in Our Mrs. Reynolds, when Inara thinks Mal is dead and kisses him. It turns completely hilarious a minute later, but it's still sweet
3) I have not read any Firefly fanfiction. ^^;
4) Don't really know any, sorry!
5) While I do like the ship, it's my least-favorite in terms of the three we get. (My favorite is actually Zoe/Wash, followed by Simon/Kaylee)
6) Hard to say. Inara would be married to her job, I'd think. Mal...I don't really know. I'm tempted to say River, but it would be more of a teacher/student thing, given her mental state.
7) Mal is a rebel fighting the Alliance. Inara is an upper-class, educated woman with a respectable job and a support for the Alliance. So they're kind of working off of opposite ends of the spectrum there
8) No kids
9) It would never be boring, given Inara's...erm, training. She'd the more experienced of the two

II. Little details:

1) I think they'd both fight to be big spoon, Inara on the grounds of being of a higher social class and generally being better-educated, and Mal on the grounds that he's the gorram captain
2) Inara would teach Mal how to swordfight. She'd figure it's high time he learned XD

4) For Mal, something quick and simple, like whatever-it-was that River was eating when she said “My food is problematic”. For Inara, I don’t really see her as the take-out sort. ^^;
