Chapter 26: Dive

ZeldaQueen: Yes? What about him?
She had escaped. Again.
ZeldaQueen: You have no one to blame but yourself, you know. If you’d have kept her locked in the brig or at least kept a fucking eye on her, she never would have gotten away
I cursed as I stormed down to the brig. Mr. Turner had information on her whereabouts, I knew it. She had chosen to disclose to him her marriage to Sparrow. What else could she have told him?
ZeldaQueen: She also told him about Sparrow’s crossdressing habit, which explains why he kept her dresses and vanity mirror after she left. She also told Bootstrap about the compromising picture she had of Jones, Jack Sparrow, Scarlett, and the goat
“What did she tell you?” I demanded as I came to stand in front of his cell.
He sat in the corner, his head down, brooding. I growled.
“What did she tell you?” I repeated, growing agitated.
ZeldaQueen: Do you think Jones suspects that Kate told Bootstrap something?
“She didn’t tell me anything,” he answered as he looked up at me. “Why?”
“Because she disappeared last night. I guarantee you that she returned to the Pearl.”
ZeldaQueen: Um, why would he tell Bootstrap this? Jones is the captain. Why wouldn’t he tell Bootstrap it’s none of his damn business and to answer the damn question
“I thought she died in the Kraken attack.”
“She somehow survived. When I find her, however, she won’t be so fortunate.”
ZeldaQueen: (Bootstrap) “By that, do you mean that you’ll drag her on board, order her to be locked in the brig and then do absolutely nothing to keep her in there?”
(Jones) “…”
(Bootstrap) “And you’ll also let her wander around the ship without anyone keeping an eye on her, so she can easily slip away like she did last time?”
(Jones) “…”
(Bootstrap) “Good to have these conversations with you, Captain”
He jumped to his feet. “Why are you going after her? It’s her husband you want.”
ZeldaQueen: (Bootstrap) “More importantly, why am I obsessing over this when my son apparently was killed during the Kraken attack?”
“Sparrow owes me ninety-eight souls. Three days are up. Your son is a part of my crew, and Katherine is going to die.”
“No!”
ZeldaQueen: I repeat, he thinks that Will is dead by this point. And what is upsetting him? That Jones is going to kill the Sue.
Wait…*double take* “Your son is a part of my crew”? What? Everyone thinks that Will is dead! Just because you drown at sea doesn’t make you “part of the crew”!
“Mr. Turner, do you actually feel something for her?” I asked, eyeing him suspiciously.
“I love her like a daughter. Don’t do this. Isn’t it enough that you’re going to take her husband away from her? And for what, a blood debt?”
ZeldaQueen: *stares*
*gapes*
I cannot believe this.
He thinks Will is dead, or at least imprisoned for eternity.
He just watched his own son be killed by Jones, even though Will himself swore no oath of service and was free to leave whenever he wants. In fact, in this fic, Will was only attacked by proxy, since it was Kate who stole the key and thus ought to make her the main target.
And what does he hate on Jones for?
Ruining Kate’s happiness.
The happiness of a woman who has done nothing but scorn him and sneer at him.
And he says he loves her like a daughter. Ignoring the fact that we’ve seen absolutely no evidence of this at all, along with the fact that there’s no reason at all for it, WE ARE BEING SHOWN THAT HE APPARENTLY CONSIDERS THAT LITTLE BITCH MORE OF A CHILD THAN HIS OWN SON! FUCK YOU, GETHESEMANE!!!
*breathes heavily*
I hate this fic
“The bargain was made and mutually agreed upon. His time is up.”
“And you’re doing this with no regard whatsoever for Katherine? She’s been hurt so many times, and this is a blow that she could never heal.”
ZeldaQueen: You know, I do believe that Bootstrap knows that his son Will is engaged to a lovely, young lady. He knows that Will has been “hurt so many times”, starting with the poor guy being abandoned and going on to him being hunted down for his blood and then being arrested for saving Bootstrap’s old captain. Jones has stolen away Will’s chance for a happy ending. And yet Katherine is the poor, put-upon one.
I’m really sorry guys, but I’m just exhausted. You all can rant about that. I honestly have nothing new to add
I paused. I had never thought of the impact that this would have on Katherine.
ZeldaQueen: HE’S A HEARTLESS WRETCH! HE SHOULD NOT CARE!!!
But Sparrow owed a blood debt, a debt that needed to be repaid. I would not change my mind, not even for her.
ZeldaQueen: I think I might write a spite fic where the canon characters show up and kill these guys off
“The debt is going to be repaid, even if it’s a life.”
ZeldaQueen: So…how does killing Kate equal Jack repaying his blood debt? Yes, Jones didn’t care if people died in the process, but he didn’t go out of his way to murder other people
With that, I turned and walked out of the brig.
I glared upon seeing a ship with a black hull and sails moored at the beach of Isla Cruces.
“They’re here,” I told the crew.
ZeldaQueen: Why are they there, again? In the movie, it was because Jones lost the key and wanted to make sure that the heart was safe. In this…did he even notice the key was missing? I don’t think he did
With a curse, I added, “And I can’t step on land for near of a decade.”
“Then trust us to go in your stead!” suggested one of the crew.
I glared at him. “I trust you to know what awaits you should you fail!”
ZeldaQueen: (Jones) “I’ll leave you to the Mary Sue!”
(Crew) *weeping* NO, NOT THAT!
I then turned to the rest of the crew. “Down then!”
“Down!” they yelled in agreement.
ZeldaQueen: Left! Right! Center!
The ship began to tip forward slightly, and then began to dive beneath the waves.
ZeldaQueen: Oh look, they’re at a pep rally
(Author’s Note: No, I’m not dead.
ZeldaQueen: Shame
And I finally got over my writer’s block…hence the fact that I updated…
ZeldaQueen: See above comment.
And why were those ellipses necessary?
I was debating whether or not to change the ending for those of you who have seen the movie, you’ll know what I’m talking about, but I think I’ll stick with the ending of the movie for the ending of this fic as well.
ZeldaQueen: Mainly because you’re an unoriginal hack who can’t think of anything new. Scratch that, you only feel safe doing it because you know the next movie will tell you how they rescue Jack and you can crib from that
And I have seen the trailer for POTC 3 and I have seen a bit of the script, but the sequel to this is going to be different from the next movie. Just thought I’d give you guys a heads-up.)
ZeldaQueen: Oh yes, I’ve seen how “different” it is. You basically give all of Elizabeth’s awesome moments to Kate and substitute the canon backstory of Calypso with your stupid Sirena chick. Everything else, you copied

ZeldaQueen: Yes? What about him?
She had escaped. Again.

See, Sarah Jane screamed, twisted her ankle and then took out several Sontaran units with a notebook. Kate apparently drives Jack batshit, thinks that sex is more important than staying alive and shoves the plot out the window for more moonlit views of her swanning around in stupidly impractical clothing, banging Jack and making everyone dance to her attention.
