Yes, I've checked the reviews of this book on Amazon too and unfortunately, the positive reviews do outnumber the negative ones. What's even weirder for me is that some of the negative reviews slam Clary, but praise Jace. They run along the lines of "I hated Clary, but I loved Jace," or "At least Jace was funny," etc. Which I don't get, because Jace is *just as bad as Clary,* if not worse. I don't know if it's a double standard or if those people honestly can't see why Jace is such a terrible character.
