"No, apparently she does refer to her decision to live in Forks with her dad as "exile". O_o"
What. No, seriously. WHAT. As I recall she was moving there or something. She didn't "exile herself" if she was "forced" to go live in Forks when it was not of her own volition. Exile is when someone banishes you from someplace (usually with some form of punishment if you dare to come back), or you chose to leave a certain place for good of your own will. Going to Forks was neither or those things.
GET A DICTIONARY MEYER! I mean, jeez, she could see her mom again. T_T But NOPE. She's too busy obsessing over Mr. McSparkle Buns.
...I only know what I do from skimming and recaps. >_>;
"Perhaps it's the implication that it's annoying to Bella that someone's being nice and helping her out?"
Ugh. Probably. I'm also used to the word 'bravery' being used when someone's afraid yet does what they have to anyway. Standing up to your fears, being able to stand on your own two feet and face whatever it is that makes you shake, is like having liquid courage pour into you. Intangible, but you can just feel it. You have the power to move forward.
Er, but enough of the rambling there. >>; Point is, the word 'brave' makes it seem like everybody else is below Bella. T_T Ugh. *headdesk*
Oh lord, flashbacks to .hack//Cell. Game-Midori with her "translucent" skin, wonderful skills, her superior morality to Bordeaux the Player Killer, the unreasonable method of her creation. Bluh. Oi, and the screaming when she realized her own past, only to have the crowd scowl at her. "Most of the people in The World like killing others, willing to be Player Killers at the blink of an eye. They also find Midori disgusting and wouldn't even help her, all except for poor Adams, er, Adamas." Okay. Stop smashing that notion into the reader's face. T_T /quick rant
