The sad part is the art style isn’t bad per-say; it just feels off. I think it lacks heart and is forced which give it that uncanny valley feel where your thinking:
These people aren’t in high school they are models; only the appear to be robot models who can‘t express proper human emotion half the time and why does Bella head look like that. There is just something creepy about it…
You know it was mentioned that Bella doesn’t look plain, but here’s the real problem; even if she’s supposed to be pretty but thinks herself plain, she not carrying herself like that. Sometimes it seems like she’s at some kind of photo-shoot, but maybe it’s just me.
Also couldn’t she just tell us how she was attracted by the images. I smell Meyer’s hand in this. Any artist knows that you tell feeling though images; that’s the point of the GRAPHIC NOVEL thing!
Ultimately a waste of what could have been (just what could have been; I won't say good) if this Young Kim person had gotten more liberty; at least in my opinion, because I really get the feel of the person sitting there trying to do their own thing and having Meyer bitch about it until everything done her way.
