This is EXACTLY what she did with Sweeney Todd in her goddamned 'Haunted' fics: first she tried to explain away his murdering people, and finally she invented an abusive father she could blame for Sweeney Pod's insanity.
She went from refusing to acknowledging it, to not only seeing it and then justifying it.
And she's doing it to Davy Jones. Davy Jones, who in this movie, is the nautical equivalent of the devil. She wants to fuck the devil.
