The thing is, I live in a small town with about three good clothing stores, one pool, and only two high schools. (One's more... selective than the other and we only have about 150 students.) My library has more than the adverage number of kids in it, since sometimes there's just not much else to do, so "young adult" is like 13-years and older. Ad if thirteen-year-olds are getting books like this out, then our generation is screwed.
