To be fair, it was a better description drop than Bella's "I ought to look this way, now let me tell you how I DO look, and in the most flattering adjectives possible". If she had limited it to stuff like "I've normally got a dark complexion, am I turning paler?", meh, but then it went off on the "OH LOOK, I'M CHEROKEE!" rant.
