He wrote some stupid sequel, where Christine and Raoul are in New York with their son, and it's ten years later, and Raoul is a drunk who beats Christine. Oh, and she banged the Phantom before her wedding night, and her child is also the Phantom's son. And Madame Giry is evil and Christine discovers the Phantom is her Truest Love and JESUS CHRIST, it's just like some fanfiction writer conceived of it!
