I know what you mean. :( Same for me and Raoul, from The Phantom of the Opera. He likes Christine and doesn't stalk or murder, but he also doesn't sing "Music of the Night", so fans hate him. And then Andrew Lloyd Weber made him an abusive alcoholic and wrote the sequel like some wanky fanfiction.
