So... if Pettigrew's already basically vanished, and we have no reason to go after Sirius, and Remus basically knows what's going on (erm... right? I know Holly decided to say "Oh I know you're a werewolf and all", but she did say how she knew? I assume she did, just so everything can be peachy by the end with everybody knowing everything...), then what the hell is the climax of this book?
There is NO CONFLICT HERE. There's no sense of dread about Sirius Black trying to kill people because we know who's who and we know where Sirius is at all times. There's no terrifying presence of the Grim, since we already know it's Sirius, so the great black dog haunting Harry and adding some honest creepiness to the proceedings is gone. Holly isn't friends with Hagrid, so we don't have the doubt about the fate of Buckbeak, and she obviously doesn't give a shit anyway about the hippogryph or Hagrid. Her parents came out and said that Sirius is a better guardian than the Dursleys (and were probably going to reveal some blood link to James so she'd get the protection from that), so we'll probably be getting that saccharine crap, too...
This is pointless! This whole fic is an exercise in How To Remove All Tension From Everything Ever.
