What about Gary Stus? How do they fit into the equation?
Mikey: Then they couldn’t use the sexism argument because heaven knows “you can’t be sexist towards men” since we’re all evil pigs of anti-feminism who just wanna rape (which only men can do) every women we see after all! And in the case of I a every man to - Mwhahahahahahaha men are sooooooo~ evil! *Ominous clouds and lighting flashing*
Okay I’m done… :)

Before anyone says: "Oh, they/you should just have sucked it up and grown a thicker skin! Learn to accept criticism!"
Mikey: Um but they should… This isn’t life or death. It’s a fanfic! The only way one can improve is by getting criticism. Apparently we should all be nice or say nothing at all… Everyone should remain mediocre, why bother to improve? I love that flawed concept so~ much. :)
ZeldaQueen: Did...you just pull the standard Mary Sue author "don't like, don't read" card? O_o
Mikey: I hate that card. It’s terribly misused. If you don’t like Pokemon then don’t go reading Pokemon fanfics, yeah that makes sense. Why the hell are you reading a Pokemon fanfic then, Mary Sue or not.
If you LIKE Pokemon and you read a terrible Mary Sue fanfic then why are you being told “don’t like, don’t read” when the only way your going to know if you like something is if you read it. Heck even if the description sounds horrible maybe you’ll like it, or it’s misleading, or maybe you think it might be so bad it’s good, or maybe it’s well written and makes sense in context? Or maybe the description was a flat out lie.
I can’t be the only person who’s seen this-
You discover that the fanfic is awful and derails your favorite characters for the sake of either an original character or sometimes a derailed version of your favorite character. You post your displeasure and you get “don’t like, don’t look” but the problem is YOU DO LIKE, THAT’S WHY YOU LOOKED!
I hate that…

I know there are some real jerks out there who do send cruel messages and bully people online, but some of the nicest people I know are those who have been willing to honestly tell me flaws in my work. Hell one of my worst fanfics was MSTed by someone and I laughed, because even I knew the fanfic was horrible! It was cheesy, chiche, and had an obvious anti-drinking message with a twist ending you could see a mile away!
