Precisely; it's fine to vent about how you believe the sporking community is bullying (although misogynistic is reaching, to say the least), but turning around and saying "You guys can't do this because you're meany heads!" is pretty hypocritical.

The problem is, I don't think the author has a clear idea of what "Mary Sue" really is connotative of. I think the implication is that if a female character is at all strong, it's belittling to call her a Sue.

Yeah, it seems that she isn't really grasping what warrants a Sue. To be fair, the term is pretty sweeping, and it can be applied to female character (primarily) that a person just doesn't like and thinks has too much importance. canon!Ginny has been referred to as a Sue, for instance, primarily by Harmonians whose ship was sank, even though Ginny is a well-rounded, realistic female character who doesn't garner an undue amount of attention (despite being the hero's love interest); even canon!Hermione is called a Sue because she's so very smart, even though she has plenty of flaws (she's not particularly likable, she seizes up under fire, stress gets to her more easily than it does the boys).

But for all my time in the MSTing community (well, reading MSTs, anyway), they only ever call out OCs as Sues/Stus when they really freaking deserve it. Sporkings that I read usually reach a certain Level of Egregiousness before they're attacked.

And hey; if you're making this post because your characters, or character that you like, are oftentimes called Mary Sues? You might want to look a little closer at them...
