At least Rose Potter had some Girl Power going for it. I mean, it was infuriating and the whole thing was horrible and Rose Potter should die in a fire and all that, but... well, that's about the only good thing I can say about it, and that pretty swiftly became a bad thing (like everything else in the fic).
The implication from Holly here is that, because she's a guuurl, she needs more support and is more prone to whining and getting all emotional and being abused. On account of her being a girl, you see. Because we girls are so much more prone to getting all listless and emotional and passive. I mean damn it girl grow a spine or something. I don't want to read how Holly Potter has to have all of her friends do everything for her because she's such a fragile waif (and apparently still 'the smallest Slytherin' even in second year, and this will probably continue into third-- she's got a pituitary gland infection or something, she should have grown a little by now), I want a Girl Who Lived to be taking action. Trying to affect her fate. Not sitting on her bed pouting and being fretted over.
