And for some reason, the thing that confuses me most about this chapter is that she... summons a snake to talk to. Even though she's admitted that Blaise is pretty much her soul mate, she summons her snake to tell all her darkest secrets. WHY.
Oh my god, the way these asshats treat Lockhart is disgusting, and the way the author keeps calling him 'the dandy' or 'the ponce' is infuriating. Author! HE HAS A NAME. I'm fine with occasionally using a descriptor instead of a name or pronoun ('the girl' or 'the man', basically, I get annoyed when people are identified by hair- or eye-color, or skin color, too), but I'm pretty sure the narrative uses dandy/ponce more times than it refers to him by his name.
