And how are you going to stay one step ahead, when they can fly and you can't?

Horses can sense dragons from miles away.
Which is why they completely missed them last time.
Also, animals can't magically detect predators or anything; they're just more in tune with their instincts than we are. If the dragons come silently from downwind, the horses will not be able to sense them.

Link went inside to fetch a stable hand to take our horses to the stable.
They're quadrupeds, and half-lion to boot. They're not going to have facilities for horses. Hell, the horses should have refused to enter a city that reeks of predator. That's more likely a larder than a stable.

If you're doing this from first person, you shouldn't mention Link's earlier attempts. Jenna didn't hear them, so we shouldn't know about them.

I'd forgotten that Jenna was pregnant until the commenters pointed it out, but it doesn't really matter. They're both going to die of alcohol poisoning. Lions weigh about twice what humans do, so their alcoholic drinks are going to be about twice as powerful.
