My professor once had a Peruvian alcohol that caused her to hallucinate...it was extremely potent stuff, though. Seeing as the Suethor said that there's a hallucinogenic root in the alcohol and that it's stronger than normal, we can explain Link and Jenna's reaction as being caused by that.
