I don't think that they're from another fandom. Google doesn't bring up anything, at any rate. I think that she just was stealing Zena's weapon.
And yeah, if she had spent a few paragraphs explaining these things, then it would be perfectly fine. But since her backstory doesn't involve sex with Link, we don't get anything beyond "Oh, here's my convenient weapons which I'm so skilled with!"
