That's also a good possiblity. I mean I would. However remember the carpenters and Link... yeah... Oh course I was kidding anyway, they we're captured for snooping around just like Link. Although you could say the captured them for "that" when you take into account what Ganondorf did and the fact that the bridge was down.
I think it was supposed to repesent the fact that Tatl was less kind, intellegent, and helpful than Navi anyway. Still I agree - I love Majora's Mask, but Tatl could have been more helpful. Well many monsters are a staple of the series it would be nice for the newer players to get some help.
In Tatl's defense all those complaint's about Navi may have been the reason they made her less useful and the fact that Majora Mask is a direct sequal so they assumed everyone would have already played OoT.
