Well to be fair, there's no mention of if Renata's power is stopped by love. Agreed on Chelsea though.

After two books just harping on about how dangerous and evil they are, Meyer suddenly starts backpedaling about how they're not REALLY bad, just so that we can have the big "OMG, THEY'RE EVIL!" reveal. Which we've already had. And...that's it. Everyone just talks. She probably could have hooked this chapter with the one before it with no problem.

Well, it certainly is starting to challenge Jacob's chapters, yes.
