It's hard to be interested in what Nora/Patch are doing when they're not really central to the plot. I've totally forgotten what Nora's even trying to achieve so far in this novel. I mean, the plot is obviously "will the horribly abused and enslaved Nephilim manage to successfully overthrow the evil mindf**king fallen angels?", and Nora/Patch are really bystanders in that plotline. Why aren't we hanging out with the gathering Nephilim? Why aren't we focussing on how to dethrone the Black Hand (the worst leader ever) and replace him with a more effective leader? Why aren't we researching how to stop the fallen from taking control of Nephilim?
It just seems like the book is focussing on the irrelevant stuff. I don't care about Nora. I don't care about Patch. I do care about the unfairness of the Nephilim's lot. It's like an elephant the size of Mars standing in the room at all times, completely overshadowing Nora's wangst.
