For all the purple prose, what I got out of this narration was the feeling where you are down with fever. I've experienced very high fevers for long terms of time (don't ask...) and this is what it is described here. Not even close the unimaginable pain the transformation claims to bring. So much fail.
And the Mary Sue shows her colors... I was screaming "SHUT UP!" the whole time, but in vain. It simply goes on... and on... and on... Screw the birthing scene, THIS is the most painful, infuriating, disgusting part of the book!
