I actually really hate the Korra/Mako/Asami love triangle BECAUSE Asami is such a great character. I mostly hate it because Mako and Korra are going to get together and honestly, it makes Mako look like a giant dick. His girlfriend just lost litterally everything, watching as the last thing she has to remember her life slips away and he...makes a subtle move on Korra. He has stated that his reason for picking Asami was a calculated, logical move, so obviously at some point, he sat down, compared the women and decided Korra came up short BUT he then tries to stop Bolin from making moves.
Mind you, if I felt these were presented as character flaws and someone seriously called him out on it (or maybe, gasp, Korra doesn't get with Mako), my feelings will go away, but I genuinely don't trust the Avatar writers in their romance writing so...yeah.
Still, I like that Asami is NOT hated on in the show and how respectful they are to her. She's a bit of a Mary Sue, but meh, I can handle it because there isn't that much "Let's stop the story to talk about how great she is" in the show.
but with Karumi/Hakuron, I read some other work by the same manga author and loved it as pure, emotional porn. I like dubcon in a purely "Oh god so bad for me but sooooo good" way, but that pairing goes a little too far. Honestly the author's other big work, Sensual Phase, already goes too far (the main character's entire existence is to be hated on then semi-raped by her boyfriend) and this one was much worse. My favorite by the author (again, in a shitty chocolate way) was the one about the virgin pop star trying to make it big. Though I was confused on why the ONLY way she could make it big was through sleeping with people and how she never argued that. In fact, later in the story it's proven wrong, since she does make it big all on her own with no sex involved, just by being cute, likeable and a go-getter. So...pointless plot is pointless? Meh, give me my twinkie.
