I apologize if I offended you with that comment. I didn't mean to imply that people have the right to belief or disbelief religious texts. I had meant to bring up that this was a real set of beliefs that some people *do* follow, and Fitzpatrick was blatantly twisting and making them up to suit her own desires. It's no different, in my view, from Stephenie Meyer using the Quileute Native American tribe as Magical Brown People and completely making up legends and folklore that they have, just for clumsy foreshadowing, all while ignoring that the Quileutes are real people with their own real-life folklore and beliefs which is in no way like what she wrote.
