I agree whole-heartedly with this entire comment. It sounds like Zoey is just rolling her eyes and turns to the reader and says "Gawd, can you believe this loser? Some people shouldn't have been Marked in the first place. I mean, jeez, have some dignity." I want to smack her with an anvil.
