In "cool story, bro" news...

I had a super-hot substitute in high school. Total movie-star good looks. No one could quite believe it when he walked in. It's probably the most attention anyone ever paid to that class up 'til that point (not to disparage the actual teacher, but...it was a home ec class. We planned fake weddings). Halfway through class, he managed to drop a line about how he met and proposed to his fiancée. You could hear the whoosh of twenty or so plaintive sighs the second he did.

And keeping all that in mind? If he'd actually made a move on any student in that class? It would have been really fucking creepy, not to mention inappropriate to the max and I'm pretty sure every person in the classroom would agree. Fantasies are fun and harmless, but even at fourteen I could acknowledge that if he'd ever tried to come on to me, it would be whole universes of wrong.

Plus, he had to have been just out of college but I still looked at him and went "OMFG he's kinda old!". As in, he's kinda old for anyone in high school.

Sadly, I knew people who would think and talk like that in regards to a teacher/student relationship back in high school. Protip: these were not people I wanted to be like. Like Twilight, are we absolutely sure that this series isn't some sneaky subversive anti-hero postmodern novel where you find out you've been invested in the villain's view point the whole time?
