"And he asked to see my Mark. The one on my shoulders and back.”

"Show me yours and I'll show you mine."
... Okay, I need to go scrub myself now, I apologize for that.

*breathes heavily* To calm myself, I'm going to wonder how Stevie Rae verbally censored herself like that
I figured she'd said "effed." I do that sometimes in the company of younger people.

I just love how most people only remember Romeo and Juliet for FORBIDDEN LOVERS WHO ARE OH MY GOD DESTINED FOR ONE ANOTHER BUT THEIR FAMILIES WON'T ALLOW IT SO THEY MUST RUN AWAY/MARRY IN SECRET/DIE TO BE TOGETHER and not, you know, the fact that they DIED. And that Romeo was engaged to another girl before he saw Juliet. And that they knew each other for, what, a day before they were proclaiming undying love? Look, I love me some forbidden romance and two lovers trying to overcome hate and prejudice to be together, but Romeo and Juliet are, in my opinion, a terrible example.

And now for my "This could be good IF...."
Zoey not believing that something is wrong with Neferet COULD be good if it was because, simply, Neferet was nice to her. Nobody wants to believe that someone, especially of a higher authority than they, who spoke kindly to them or told them they were special is really a terrible, evil person. However, in here, Zoey is just an idiot. Pity.
Second, Stevie Rae opting to instead focus on a movie COULD be good IIIIIF it was much later in the book/series and Zoey was actually thinking and worrying about all this. Like a sort of "This is too much for you, you need to take a little time to relax to clear your head before you think more on this. How about a movie to make you calm down?" But here...yeah, these people just have skewed priorities.
