To be very fair, self inserts aren't *necessarily* a bad thing. Elizabeth Bennett was pretty much a self insert for Jane Austen, and she's a good character. It just depends on how well it's handled.

I guess the issue will be whether or not Zoey acts like how Kristen would, or how Kristen THINKS she would.
