Exactly, and that is the part that annoys me! While yes, there are plenty of asshats out there who troll fics and flame them (whether they deserve them or not), the people these fic writers whine about are the people who probably want to try and help. This probably pisses more people off than the Mary Sues themselves, who wants to go and help someone, only to be swarmed by their groupies? Or even worst, just go 'meh, I've read better' and get labelled? The author of the essay may say we need to stop telling them to stop being sensitive, but you know what? Stop being sensitive and get a thick skin or else life is going to eat you up and spit you out.
