If so many things are new and strange now that the sun (so to speak) has appeared again, shouldn't the Muggles need a leetle more time to investigate and study them, before creating all sorts of new jobs around them? This is a totally new environment, for Pete's sake! Take the aloe salve, for instance. How could they, after what I presume is less than a year, have figured out the medicinal qualities of aloe vera AND have learned to prepare salve out of the gel?
Research failure, too. A two-second google search tells us that aloe vera is good against sunburns, minor burns, and other skin problems, and is a strong laxative. I didn't find anything on healing of friggin' blindness! And how, how would they already know how to spin silk? Argh!
