1) If Edward were so concerned about Aro he wouldn't even be checking Bella out. If he finds out, Aro finds out. Honestly, I just think he misses being a creep, that was what brought them together, and is setting their marriage aflame again.

2) I don't know about Portuguese/Spanish/Italian thing. When I was taking Italian we had Portuguese students and they themselves remarked that Spanish (from Spain) was closer to them than Italian. And when they talked to me in Portuguese I understood a great deal, which is more than I can say for when I started taking French. XD
