Wow, this ended way more like an episode of a TV show than a book. An episode in the middle of a season, no less, where you can assume that things are going to be resolved by the season finale. Between that and all the filler, I feel like this book, Marked, and Chosen could probably be condensed down into one book without losing anything. And that's assuming that any of this actually gets resolved in Chosen, which, looking at this series's track record, I don't have high hopes for.
And I like Detective Marx. He seems like a nice guy, he's sensible, and his connection to the vampire world seems a hell of a lot more interesting than Zoey's. Why can't the next book be about him instead? I bet he'd do something more interesting than try to date three guys at once.
