XD Yeah, romance tends to be one of the things I focus less on when watching something. Don't get me wrong, like I said, I like a good bit of romance, but I don't like unnecessary angst or when there's a lot of focus on a love triangle when there ought to be more attention on important things. That's why I didn't mind the romance in the first series as much. I get the complaints, but at least Aang, Katara, Zuko, Mai, and everyone else were able to step away from their romantic woes to focus on the fight with the Fire Nation. (Inversely, this is also one of the many reasons that I hate the romances of books like Twilight, The Mortal Instruments series, or Hush, Hush. They're bad romances already, but the Suethors have the characters bitch endlessly over who loves who, instead of the actual freaking plot)

I really do love Korra. XD I was a bit worried when her character was first introduced, because I've noticed that a lot of people fall into the trap of thinking that a fiery or hot-blooded character = a bitchy or overly whiny character. Korra had her bad moments, but they were supposed to be flaws and she has to learn to deal with them. She also really is smart and cares a lot about her friends. I love watching her. ^_^

Oh yeah, I don't mind works that are supposed to be kinky and are not pitched as anything else. That's why I love Fruits Basket so much. It's supposed to be pure shoujo goodness and never pretends to be anything else. Like aikaterini said above though, the series end tried to play it straight with Hakuron as Karumi's True Love, despite the horrible things he did to her. What happens to him at the end is supposed to be very sad, that Karumi didn't get to marry her rapist and abuser. If the series was written to be about an abusive relationship then...well it wouldn't have been my cup of tea, but at least the manga-ka wouldn't have been trying to pass it off as anything else.
