One of the things I like most about Avatar is that it's so ridiculously feminist without being overt about it and that gender is almost completely a non-issue in the world of Avatar. Outside of Pakku initially being a dick and refusing to train Katara, I'm hard pressed to think of many instances where the subject of gender roles even gets brought up, as positive or negative. Whenever someone asks me about a good feminist work, I point them that way first.
