"she even completely supports the cast, and helps them to better adapt their characters." - funny, I could have sworn Pattinson himself has said he finds Meyer creepy (don't have sources to hand, can easily be found on google, he also called Twilight Meyer's "wet dream") Doesn't quite sound like all's well between Meyer and the Twilight cast.
I don't bother much with Author interviews (I generally prescribe to the 'death of the author' school, 'cept where the author's known for some serious prejudice or crimes against children or animals, in which case I try to keep away from their writing) so I don't know what they're like as people and I don't really care. Even if the writer of this article is telling the truth, though given that her main argument against Rowling is that she's British I sincerely doubt that, it DOES NOT make Meyer a better writer. End Of.
Oh, and also: I understand that this will sound petty to non-British people, but it pisses me the ever-loving-fuck off when people say they love "British accents". First off, Great Britain refers to four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Not just England. Not that whoever wrote this article appears to know that. Please stop conflating Britain with just England, it hurts the other counties' feelings. Furthermore, even just within England there are a good two or three dozen RECOGNISED accents, and honestly two accents that would technically be classed as the same (Gloucester and Devon, for example, are both classed as West Country accents but are still distinct when hear side-by-side, and while West Bromwich and Tipton are both Blackcountry, a local would easily tell the two apart) often sound very little alike. So I would like to know how the writer of this article can claim to love British accents when odds are she's only ever heard one or two and probably doesn't even realise that there are other accents here and most of them SOUND NOTHING ALIKE, to the point where just moving a half-hour drive away can result in nobody being able to understand you speak /endrant
I don't know where you found this article, ZQ, but I commend your bravery and self-control for getting through it.
